Angry members of business forums have closed and barricaded all gates to the Evander Gold Mine.
EVANDER – Angry members of business forums have closed and barricaded all gates to the Evander Gold Mine.
This came after the mine obtained a court restriction order against 30 members of these forums.
The names of the 30 members are attached to the gate.
In the past weeks, the mine and the business forums signed a memorandum of understanding following several protests and meetings.
The business forums are demanding that locals are prioritised for employment and tenders.
The protesting forums have vowed not to back down until locals are given jobs and tenders.
