Local mines and Govan Mbeki Municipality signed a pledge to support the Accelerated Local Economic Development (LED) Framework of the municipality on Wednesday, 18 October at the Council Chambers.
The pledge included the following commitments:
• Continuously engage on matters of common interest within the Govan Mbeki Municipality.
• Contribute effort in the fighting poverty, unemployment and inequality.
• Promote local small, medium and micro enterprises within the legal framework and broad based black economic empowerment.
• Use available resources within the municipality to optimise economic growth and social cohesion.
