A fake police officer is scamming car theft victims out of their money.
According to Capt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, the man has been scamming people out of their hard-earned money under the pretext of a police officer.
He claims the rank of captain in the Vehicle Investigation Services, using various surnames.
The man calls prospective victims, who lost their vehicles in either hijacking or car theft, saying he has found their vehicles.
