About five households were without electricity for two weeks after electricity cables were stolen in Chris Hani Section in eMzinoni.
The residents reported this to the Govan Mbeki Municipality, however they were shocked when the municipality allegedly told them to buy the cables themselves.
They said the municipality said they can only help them with connection, but they have to buy their own cables.

The Govan Mbeki Municipality had not commented by the time of going to the press.
