Standerton residents were upset and angry after being unable to buy prepaid electricity for five days.
From Sunday, 12 November the Lekwa Municipality was adamant that it was a technical glitch that the team tried to resolve.
The consumers tried in vain to by tokens or uni-pins.
A woman, who is dependent on oxygen for 16 hours a day, was very worried because if there is no electricity she can not use the oxygen machine.
With only two units left on the prepaid meter, the vendors could provide vouchers again on the morning of 17 November.
She is on 80 – 85 % usage of oxygen.
According to her, she makes caps for an additional income, but because of the situation she could not complete her orders, losing a much needed income.
Others had to take their small children to people with electricity just to take a warm bath.
