Bethal pastor in custody for fraud amounting to R14-m

A 39-year-old pastor was arrested by Bethal Detectives on counts of fraud, amounting to R14-m.

A 39-year-old pastor was arrested by Bethal Detectives on counts of fraud, amounting to R14-m.

It came to the attention of the police after the complainant, who is the business partner of the suspect, opened a fraud case in 2016.

It is alleged that the suspect and the complainant are business partners in the construction industry and the suspect was the only person who had access to the bank account.

Const Thomas Mogadime, police spokesperson said the arrest is due to D/Const December Jele who followed the information received about the suspect.

“During the arrest, it was discovered that the suspect is a well known pastor at a local church.

“The suspect will appear at Bethal Magistrate’s Court facing charges of fraud.”
