Const Smangliso Phungwayo and his three co-accused will appear in the Standerton Regional Court on 12 December.
Const Phungwayo, formerly in service at the Charl Cilliers Police Station, and the other suspects were charged with robbery with aggravated circumstances.
They allegedly robbed the Super Sure Bakery behind the Indian Complex on 24 June.
