Where can and can’t you use fireworks in the Govan Mbeki Municipal area this festive season

Should the public not adhere to specific areas, fireworks can be confiscated and destroyed.

Govan Mbeki Municipality informed residents on their Facebook page where they are allowed to use fireworks in our area.

Procedure by public:

– Dates when the public in specific areas can discharge fireworks will be published on the municipal social media page, notice boards and local media.

– Areas specified for the discharge of fireworks are the following:
1. Secunda : Graceland (overflow parking).
2. Evander : Stand 1463 sports grounds.
3. Trichardt : Western side of Paul Kruger Road at the 4×4 track.
4. Kinross : Stand 2207 park at the golf course.
5. eMbalenhle : Stand 2099 sport sstadium b-field.
6. Charl Cilliers : 186 Ackerman Street.
7. Thistle Grove : Stand 2769 at the dam.
8. Bethal : Joubert Park Stadium.
9. eMzinoni : eMzinoni Sport Stadium.
10. Leandra : Area next to the water reservoir.
11. Lebahong : Sports stadium.

– Should the public not adhere to these specific areas, the fireworks can be confiscated and destroyed.

– When fireworks are confiscated, complete a form (FW4).

– Should the owner of the fireworks refuse to sign for the confiscated fireworks, have a witness sign in his/her place.
