Residents are tired of the stench caused by sewage overflowing in McCorkindale Street next to the Duck Pond and behind Laerskool Oranjegloed Primary School.
Govan Mbeki Municipality failed to follow up on the issue or fix it a week after it began to overflow.
Residents, the school and the DA councillor, Ms Mariaan Chamberlain, reported the issue, but to no avail.
The sewage has been overflowing for weeks and it is a matter of concern to residents as children play in the dirty water.
“People have picnics here over weekends and the sewage can cause diseases,” said a resident.
