Police and support staff were awarded for outstanding performance during the year at the Bethal Police Station’s year-end function recently.
Lt Col Petrus Nzima, station commander, commended the members, as well as stakeholders for the hard work and dedication in the fight against crime.
Det Capt Sandile Mkhwanazo encouraged members to continue with the good work.
The support service commander, Capt Anne Steyn, acknowledged the support that members of SAPS are giving her as she is only a few months in the area.
The labour representative from Popcru, Det Const Linda Shabangu, thanked the station commander for being a good leader and for uplifting the morale of members of the station.
He also wished the members a safe festive season.

– A.C. Genevive van der Vyver: Best Support Administration Employee.
– Groundsman Michael Ncongwane: Best Support Cleaning Service employee.
– Sgt Themba Sihlali: Best Vispol Crime Prevention employee.
– Det W/O Koos Skosana: Best Stock Theft Unit Detective employee.
– Const Vusumuzi Mpila: Best Vispol employee.
– Det Const December Jele: Detective employee.
– Data typist Punkie Nkosi: Best Vispol Administration employee.
The following members received special awards from management of the station:
– Intern Selinah Mohlaphuli for hard work and dedication during the 2017 internship programme.
– Det W/O Nico Veldman for best achievement in sport.
– Const Thomas Mogadime for outstanding perfomance as a communications community police official and Social Crime Prevention officer at Bethal.
The station commander, Lt Col Petrus Nzima, thanked the station’s organising committee, sponsors and stakeholders for making the day possible.
