[WATCH] Evander house burglary caught on CCTV
“It shows you how comfortable intruders have become. One of them is not even bothered to cover his face.”
Two burglars were caught on CCTV stealing a television from an Evander home on 12 December while the occupants were asleep.
Two men gained access to the premises at approximately 12.50am by jumping over the wall.
They walked around the house and stood in front of the dining room window for about 20 minutes.
It is suspected that they scanned the house to see where everything was that they wanted to steal and what to avoid.
They broke the burglar bars in front of one of the windows and forced the window open.
The burglar bars were used to keep the window open.
The owner of the house said: “It shows you how comfortable intruders have become. One of them is not even bothered to cover his face.
“It is the invasion of privacy that is the worst.
“I feel like a child who is scared of the dark.
“It seemed as though the burglars discussed the situation and counted to three before they stood up to grab the television because they knew the alarm would go off when they stand up.
“The surround sound was put together, but I suppose they did not have enough time to take everything.
“We could see on the cameras how they climbed over the wall with the television at about 1.31am.”
The burglary was reported to the police who are investigating.
