A couple was allegedly attacked and stabbed with a knife in Florapark at the Eskom Flats in Standerton on 22 December at around 4am.
According to information received, the woman’s ex-boyfriend was apprehended in Balfour in connection with the attack.
She was apparently stabbed in her hands while the man that was with her, was stabbed twice in the neck, then in the chest and also in his back.
They were both admitted to Standerton Hospital and the man was later transferred to a hospital in Tswane (Pretoria).
Although the injured woman allegedly pretended to be dead, the suspect still tied her up before he left the flat.
Mr Louis Thabethe of #IAM, went to the scene and said that on arrival, the provincial ambulance service was still not there.
Jeria Ambulance Service was then dispatched and arrived within 10 minutes to attend to the injured.
The woman’s vehicle was reported stolen and later recovered in Balfour, in her ex’s possession.
The suspect will be transported to Standerton where he will appear in the Standerton Magistrates Court next week.
