A local woman is facing animal cruelty charges after she allegedly buried her dog’s puppies alive in October in Secunda.

The SPCA opened a case against the woman who asked her teenage daughter to help her bury the puppies.

Her seven-year-old son asked where the puppies were and her husband realised she had buried them.

He dug them out and took them to the SPCA.

They were still alive when they got there, but could not be saved and had to be put down.

The police are investigating.
