Municipal manager intends to take legal action against alleged attackers

Mr Thisha Mhlanga said though he has opened a criminal case at the Secunda Police Station, he intends to take legal action as well.

The acting municipal manager of Govan Mbeki Municipality has vowed not to shy away from doing his job, despite a recent assault on him.

Mr Thisha Mhlanga said the attack did not demoralise him, but rather motivated him to continue do what he was deployed to do in the Govan Mbeki Municipality.

He was allegedly accosted and assaulted by angry members of a controversial business forum on Friday, 5 January.

Members of the forum allegedly poured water over him and escorted him to his car.

He said though he has opened a criminal case at the Secunda Police Station, he intends to take legal action as well.
