Alexander Mohoebi, pleaded guilty to the shooting and killing of Mr Bongani Nkumba, a traffic officer of Standerton, and his sentencing will take place in the High Court in Delmas on 9 and 10 April.
According to the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga, the case was postponed due to outstanding information that has to be gathered from Lesotho.
Mr Nkumba was shot and killed while on duty on 5 August 2016.
The Minister of Transport, Mr Joe Maswanganyi, said a clear message was sent to the public and motorists in particular not to take the law into their own hands.
