The executive mayor of Govan Mbeki Municipality, Ms Flora Maboa-Boltman, said the indigent registration is taking place from Saturday, 3 March.
The indigent registration will take place from 3 to 25 March on weekends between 8am and 4pm at the following venues: in eMbalenhle at Vukuzithathe Primary School, MaphalaGulube Primary School, Lifalethu Primary School, Basizeni Special School, Shapeve Primary School and Mbalenhle Primary School.
In Bethal and eMzinoni the registration takes place at Sakhisizwe Primary School, Vukanini Primary School, Mzinoni High School, Lamlile Primary School and Bethal Town Hall.
In Leslie and Lebohang the registration will be at SS Mashayisa Primary School and Civic Centre Hall.
In Kinross at the Extension 25 municipal office, in Secunda and Evander at the Secunda main office (Shell House) and at Charl Cilliers Police Station.
The indigent scheme is intended to assist households, including child-headed households, with a combined gross income earning of R3 500, to receive subsidised electricity, water and refuse removal tariffs.
To apply for registration as an indigent, house owners must complete an indigent application form at any of the above indicated venues.
The following documents will be required:
· Certified Copy of I D.
· Letter of authority from the South African Police Services confirming the owner of the property.
· Recent municipal account statement.
· An affidavit from South African Police Service stating whether you are unemployed or not.
· Recent salary advice.
