SECUNDA – Thick Queens is planning a jaw dropping plus-size fashion show, because fashion knows no size.
This annual event will warm up the winter and the blood with a first-ever lingerie display by Thick Queens plus-size models. They will strut their stuff at the Lillian Ngoyi Centre in Secunda on Saturday, 2 June.
Designers and fashion houses, such as M2G and Sangfroid, will have their latest ranges shown off on the ramp as proof that big women can also wear the latest fashions with confidence and style.
Mr Nicholas Mashiane, founder of Thick Queens Plus Size Fashion Display, said the aim of the fashion display is to make sure that plus-size women feel appreciated, treasured and confident with their bodies.
“Most importantly, the show is letting them know that fashion does not have size, it’s about beauty from within which knows no size.”
The models will not be the only ones with a chance to dress up. The clothing brand and store, Bogart, will be giving away prizes that evening for the best dressed man and woman, as well as the most stylish dressers at the event. So make sure you dress to impress.
The event will be marked with live performances by the likes of Artistic Marvellous, Chilla Flamez, Straight Edge Saga and DJ Deeptee.
A cash bar will be open where Bald Chef & Events will take charge in preparing food and cocktails.
The event will be broadcast on television, as well as live streaming.
The show begins at 6pm. Tickets cost R150 each.
