Jean puts her organising skills to good use
As events director of the Standerton parkrun, she put her organising skills to good use and the popular, running or walking at the Standerton River Park on Saturdays is the fruits of her endeavour.
With her Scottish brogue accent, Ms Jean Robertson, a familiar face at the parkrun, has been involved with volunteering work spanning a period of nearly 15 years.
Ms Robertson served on the Cansa committee for three years and under her auspices, a team called the Pink Ladies previously entered the Relay for Life.
She was then instrumental in organising Standerton’s breast cancer awareness campaign when residents took part in the Pink Walk, sporting t-shirts depicting the plight of women affected by the disease.
