Accused still face charges even though Mathenjwa murder case is struck from roll

The Director of Public Prosecution had queries regarding this case.

Mr Sithelo Esihle Mzwandile Mathenjwa (37) was found murdered on  25 November last year and five suspects were arrested, but in a new development on 29 May, the case was struck from the roll.

The initial three accused, Messrs Themba Solomon Nhlapo (19), June Fanyana Mthembu (29) and Bongane Ngubeni, appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 28 November.

Another suspect, Mr Thabiso Morajane (30), was handed over to the Standerton Police on 29 November apparently by his family and appeared in court on 30 November.

The last suspect, Mr Absalom Masuku, first appeared in court on 22 March after he was arrested on 13 March.

The Director of Public Prosecution had queries regarding the case.
