Ten cars involved in accident between eMbalenhle and Evander

UPDATE at 3.40

According to a tow-in service employee, a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road between eMbalenhle and Secunda and nine other vehicles crashed into it.

The car caught fire. The road was reopened for traffic.

Emergency workers asked road users to avoid the N17 highway near Kinross as smoke from veld fires causes poor visibility.

eMBALENHLE – Thick smoke from a veld fire was apparently the cause of an accident that involved nine cars between eMbalenhle and Evander on the Standerton road this afternoon.

Nobody was seriously injured.
