Sizakele Mathenjwa from Secunda is passionate about empowering and inspiring women, children and the less fortunate
Woman spreads positivity among those who need it the most.
SECUNDA – Life did not stop after the death of Ms Sizakele Mathenjwa’s (28) parents, because she adopted a positive attitude.
This Miss Eagle semi-finalist has risen to the challenge and is giving back to the community.
She was touched by the lives of orphans.
Ms Mathenjwa said: “I cannot handle it to watch children sell themselves short because they are orphans.
“I want to empower people from different walks of life to remain focussed on building themselves up.
“The Bible verse that keeps me going in life is Jeremiah 1:5: ‘Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you’.”
The Miss Eagle Pageant has helped her to discover her purpose of inspiring women to be independent and to never give up on their dreams.
Making a difference in her community is important to Ms Mathenjwa.
“I was raised by my grandmother after my parents had died and growing up in a rural area, there was not much motivation.”
She decided to channel her grief into a beneficial emotion and finished her matric.
Ms Mathenjwa thrived in maths and science and studied electrical engineering at the Gert Sibande College.
She saved money from her part-time job to open her own hair salon.
“The beauty and fashion industry has always been something that I wanted to get involved in.
“I am currently studying towards becoming an image consultant.
“I describe myself as shy and humble, but I know how to stand my ground.”
Her favourite quote is: “Live to the fullest, life is short, have no regrets.”
The Miss Eagle winner should be a woman who is making a difference, plants seeds of greatness, encourages the youth and aims to achieve set dreams and ambitions in life.
