Locals looted coal on the Morgenzon/Bethal road after angry protesters forced a truck driver to offload the coal
Police said the reason for the protest is that Bethal Business Forum needs employment for the youth of Bethal and that Eskom has to give them sub-contracts as they've been engaging with them for a long time.
According to the police the driver alleged that he was stopped by a group of people who demanded that he offload the coal.
Residents began looting soon after that.
The driver escaped without harm.
