Regional Executive Committee of ANC allegedly recalls Lekwa mayor

The Regional Executive Committee (REC) allegedly recalled Lekwa mayor, Mr Linda Dhlamini, on 7 June.

Mr Dhlamini was apparently nowhere to be found when the REC wanted to communicate their decision.

According to inside sources, the decision to axe him was taken on 6 June.

South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) members, who support Mr Dhlamini, were denied access to the municipal building on 7 June.

They waited outside and cleaned the municipal yard.

The Standerton Police were called to monitor the situation.
