eMbalenhle family gets house as part of Premier’s programme

Ms Mency Ndoda was praised for organising the house for the family.

The Sithebe family praised Ms Mency Ndoda, Ward 20 councillor, for helping them to receive a proper house as part of the Premier’s Legacy House programme.

Ms Ndoda was doing a door-to-door visit in the area when she identified the need for the Sithebe family to receive a house.

She said she was moved when she saw the condition that the elderly were living in and registered their names.

Ms Thandi Ngxonono, executive mayor of Govan Mbeki Municipality, accompanied by a member of the mayoral committee, handed over the house to the Sithebe family on Thursday, 7 June.

Ms Ngxonono thanked Ms Ndoda for her dedication in serving her ward and encouraged other councillors to do likewise.

She also thanked Bed Master for donating furniture for the family.

“It is heart warming to see a smile on the faces of these elderly. We are happy that the ANC government and Govan Mbeki Municipality is taking care of the locals.”

Mr Sithebe thanked Ms Ngxonono and Ms Ndoda for the donation.
