Fire destroys car, shack in Kinross’ Afghanistan township

KINROSS – A large shack and a car were destroyed in an inferno in the Afghanistan settlement next to Thistle Grove tonight, 16 June.

Mr Alf Byleveldt of Jelani Security went to help the residents. He said most of the shack and the car were already destroyed when his crew arrived at the scene. They extinguished the fire before it could spread to the neighbouring shacks.

“The shack was big with at least five rooms. No one was injured, but they lost everything,” said Mr Byleveldt.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
