Kinross cops need help to identify victim

The man was shot in the chest.

KINROSS – The local police are asking for help to identify a murder victim.

A farmworker discovered the man’s decomposed body in a field on a farm near the water reservoirs on 25 May.

The body was found a few metres from the side of the road leading to Delmas.

It was in a fetal position and it appeared that he had been tied up.

According to Sgt Jaco Nagel, spokesman for Kinross Police, the deceased is a black man estimated at about 47 years old.

He wore a blue overall.

“We do not have much information, except that he was murdered.

“We found a bullet projectile in his chest and was sent for ballistic analysis.”

Sgt Nagel asked that people who have been missing a male family member since May, to contact Const MM Tshabalala of the Kinross Police at 017 687 1313.
