
BETHAL – Police swift’s response led to the recovery of a hijacked car on Saturday, 16 June,
They said a motorist was driving when three men standing in the road pointed a firearm at him.
He was forced to stop whereupon the men dragged him out of the vehicle and assaulted him.
They got in the vehicle and drove away.
The vehicle was later recovered in the CBD.
In a separate incident, a motorist was stopped by a man in a car that was following him and he assumed it was someone that he knew.
Const Thomas Mogadime, police spokesman, said:
“A man got out of the vehicle and asked him for directions.
“While he was giving directions, another man also got out the vehicle and pointed a firearm at him.
“They demanded his vehicle.
“Motorists have to be more careful when they drive at night and must not stop anywhere.”
