SECUNDA – The two men arrested in Evander on Monday, 11 June in connection with an armed robbery in Secunda, were released on bail on Wednesday, 14 June.
Messrs Willie Francois Marais (27) and Christo Wicus Delport (28) allegedly lured a man under false pretenses to a restaurant in the Secunda Mall on 11 June.
They allegedly hijacked him, forced him to withdraw money and went to his home where the man claimed he was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint of electrical appliances.
According to the police, the two men left the man’s house in his BMW.

StratconRisk and Jelani Security tracked the stolen vehicle to a house in Evander.
The stolen goods, vehicle and illegal firearms and ammunition were found on the premises.
The police arrested Messrs Marais and Delport on the scene.
They appeared in Evander Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and then in Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday where they were granted bail of R2 000 each.
The case was postponed to 13 July.
The victim told the newspaper that the accused were just the henchmen of a third party.
“I fear for my life and need to move away from Secunda.”
