Rand Water is now throttling water to 20 per cent in the Govan Mbeki Municipal region because the municipality failed to keep its payment agreement.
Mr Benzi Soko, Chief of Staff at Govan Mbeki Municipality, confirmed the reason for the water throttling, but he says Rand Water has been throttling water supply in the whole Govan Mbeki Municipal region and they have been doing it for the last few months.
“The municipality is currently in negotiations with Rand Water,” Mr Soko said.
