ANC to respond in 10 days over possible recall of mayor and speaker in Standerton

Rumours are circulating, which could not be confirmed, that Mr Aubrey Maboea, councillor at the Gert Sibande District Municipality, will take over as interim mayor.

The Regional Executive and Provincial Executive Committees of the ANC held a meeting on 4 February at the Lekwa municipal chambers to decide the fate of the mayor and speaker.

The possible recalling of Mr Linda Dhlamini and Ms Harriet Khotha have been making the rounds for a few months now.

Staunch supporters of Mr Dhlamini waited outside for feedback.
