According to Ms Chamberlain, the municipality did not have the correct stock in their stores to fix the damaged cables.

SECUNDA – Electricity in Krokkedilrivier Street in Secunda was finally restored yesterday after five days.
Ms Mariaan Chamberlain, DA Councillor, said a cable fault was detected on Tuesday, 25 June that left Krokkedilrivier-, Grootspruit-, Steenkoolspruit- and Wolwespruit Street without electricity.
Electricity in Azalea Street, Akasia Street and Olienhout Street was also off on Monday, but it was restored by the evening.
According to Ms Chamberlain, the municipality did not have the correct stock in their stores to fix the damaged cables.
She informed residents on Thursday that the stock arrived and municipal workers were attending to the electricity problem.
