NDP Foundation initiates walk and collects donations for the needy

Support organisation and give back to the community

eMBALENHLE – Members of the Nkosinathi Da Poet (NDP) Foundation initiated a 1 Can Walk in the township recently and collected donations that will be used to buy groceries for the needy.

Three teams took part in this event. The winning team, Team Welele, took the walk to the shops on Saturday, 15 June and received more donations than the other teams.

Mr Nkosinathi Hleza, founder of NDP Foundation, launched this project. He said it began last year when they hosted the Day in Heaven event where groceries and clothes were provided for the needy, as well as a day of entertainment, motivation and catering.

“We have experienced a huge growth in our organisation and support. The numbers behind our organisation increased and we thank Ridge Times newspaper for the exposure,” said M Hleza.

Mr Hleza’s dream is to go international with the NDP Foundation and to also reach countries such as Ghana, Uganda, and Botswana since people from these countries want to join the organisation.

The 1 Can Walk will also take place in Leandra, Tembisa, Ermelo and Gaborone in Botswana.
