Clean water flows away in Secunda

Municipality fails to fix water leak or acknowledge messages from the newspaper

SECUNDA – Residents are concerned that clean water has been leaking from a hole in the green strip between Hodgson Street and Stow Street behind the Highveld Ridge Pre-Primary School for months now.

According to residents, this water leak has been reported to the municipality numerous times, but nothing has been done.

Ms Mariaan Chamberlain, DA councillor, also reported the leak to the municipality numerous times and even sent them video’s.

The Ridge Times asked three people from the communications department of Govan Mbeki Municipality, Messrs Benzi Soko, Donald Green and Lucky Mhlongo, for comment, but none of them replied at the time of going to print.

Messages were also sent on WhatsApp to Mr Soko, but he did not reply at the time of going to print.
