Lekwa’s mayoral committee issued a statement on Monday, 27 January on the status of fire engines after the executive committee had a meeting on Friday, 24 January.
According to the statement the Lekwa Municipality resolved that new fire engines should be bought for the area as a matter of urgency.
All officials furthermore that have ensured that the municipality operated without fire engines after this resolution, should be subjected to disciplinary action as a matter of urgency.
