A farmer in the Platrand-area recently contacted the Standerton Advertiser about a delay in electrical connections to the houses of his workers.
According to him, the workers were promised electrical supply to their homes as far back as March last year.
He also said an ANC-councillor concurred with the national initiative.
The newspaper began investigating, made numerous phone calls and sent three e-mails to the Eskom corporate department in its quest to get to the bottom of this.
The department in Mpumalanga however, has a connection messaging system on both numbers that did not allow for a message to be recorded, nor to be served by the operator.
Another e-mail was finally sent to Eskom’s media desk on Thursday, 30 January, making enquiries about the hold-up.
Readers will be updated on progress in this regard.
