Residents who have allegedly been without electricity for the past few days have now threatened to protest if the Govan Mbeki Municipality does not install a new transformer in the area.

Residents who have allegedly been without electricity for the past few days have now threatened to protest if the Govan Mbeki Municipality does not install a new transformer in the area.

The residents allegedly interrupted the workers who were repairing the transformer this morning.

Sgt Busi Mthethwa, police spokesman, said the police received a complaint and swiftly responded.

“Upon our arrival, the community had gathered, but we manage to disperse them.”

The municipality did not comment at the time of publication.
