Gert Sibande District Municipality (GSDM) issued a press release to report on the passing of the speaker for council, councillor Joshua Nkosi, due to a Covid-19 related illness on Saturday 25 July.

GSDM stated that councillor Nkosi was passionate about his work and very vocal about how proud he was of the leadership that saw the institution receive two clean audit opinions in two consecutive years.

“The entire GSDM leadership and staff send their messages of support and condolences to the Nkosi-family during this time of bereavement.

“We pray that they may have strength in this time and that Mr Nkosi’s soul will rest in eternal peace.”
