Brig Leonard Hlathi issued a press release about the apprehending of the control prosecutor in Standerton on Tuesday, 28 July.
The suspect was arrested in connection with corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
The Standerton Advertiser received information about the allegations yesterday just after 1pm.
The area outside court was however, deserted upon investigation.
A court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, 30 July.
