Precious Mokoena of Khunjuliwe has her eye on the Lekwa title
The question about what she was wearing, evoked a laugh, but yes, high heels were worn with her jeans and no intricate hair extensions.
The mother of Precious Mokoena, who is a finalist in the Lekwa Pageant 2020/2021, decided to accompany the 15-year-old to an interview.
“I had mixed feelings when the announcement came, but decided to support her,” Ms Nelisiwe Khumalo said.
Father Thabiso is also rooting for her. Precious is a Grade 9 learner at Khunjuliwe Secondary School and the auditions at the Thusong Centre on 7 March, bode well for her.
“I was so excited when hearing I am one of the 20 finalists,” she said.
The question about what she was wearing, evoked a laugh, but yes, high heels were worn with her jeans and no intricate hair extensions.
In class with at least 34 other girls at Khunjuliwe, she realised that many don’t have sanitary towels and the idea to establish an organisation specifically to cater to this need, was formed.
Precious has received 121 packs of sanitary pads to date and is focusing on the whole of Lekwa.
Anyone who would like to support her, can contact her at 071 627 4303.
The items are earmarked for Women’s Day on 9 August.
This teenager listens to R & B, sometimes does sit-ups, has no special skin care routine and simply loves pap and meat.
Future ambitions include wanting to be a model, strutting on that ramp, as well as enrolling at the University of Johannesburg.
Mathematics is one of her subjects which would make it easier for university exemption after Grade 12. But what about the Miss South Africa title?
Needn’t have asked, obviously.
The Lekwa Pageant was scheduled for November, but the date is now February or March for the crown and sash to be handed over.
Her tekkies were removed and the high heels put on for the photo shoot.
Dressed up and everywhere to go.
