Eskom Development foundation reaches out to Hope of Nations Home-Based Care near Hendrina Power Station

The Eskom Development Foundation made a generous donation to the Hope of Nations Home-Based Care, a non-profit organisation (NPO) near the Hendrina Power Station on 5 August.
They handed over nutritious food-packs, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), sanitisers and foot dispensing units of sanitisers.
In line with the 2020 theme of National Mandela Day, “Education, food and nutrition in times of Covid-19”, the foundation is continuing its support and assistance of those who need it.
“This donation is consistent with Eskom’s operational value of Sinobuntu which means: ‘We Care’,” Mr Thabo Mapaila, Acting General Manager of Hendrina Power Station said.
“Nelson Mandela dedicated his entire life to serving the people of South Africa, and the best way to thank him is to keep his legacy alive.

Speaking at the handover, MMC for Social Development of the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, Mr Johan Matshiane, said: “We are in the middle of health pandemic.
“Our municipality is one of the epicentres in Mpumalanga with 1 468 cases of Covid-19.
“We welcome Eskom’s support in complementing our efforts towards ensuring the continued safety of this community.
