After the DA’s PR-councillor, Ms Sithi Silosini, laid charges against the Municipal Manager, Ms Gugulethu Mhlongo-Ntshangase, at the Standerton Police Station in August, the caucus leader now plans a similar tactic.
Mr Rosier de Ville gave a copy of his affadavit to the Standerton Advertiser on Thursday, 3 September.
He said the following day that he will visit the station in the coming weeks.
The party’s reasons are the following:
• Non-payment for services rendered.
• Service not delivered.
• Large sums of interest charged by Eskom and the failure of an accounting officer to prevent such a fruitless and wasteful expense according to the Municipal Finance Management Act.
• No generation of revenue and financial mismanagement.
• Failing to ensure that section 152 (1) (b) of the South African Constitution in which the objects of local government are regulated, is carried out to ensure the provision of basic services to communities in a sustainable manner.
• No refuse removal during the pandemic in line with the National Environmental Management Act 30 of 2013.
• Sewage pollution and subsequent disregard of essential municipal services in terms of gazetted regulations, regardless of labour-related disputes.
Cleaning, sanitation, pest control, sewerage, waste and refuse removal services are all essential.
• Vaal River pollution through the waste water treatment plant in line with the National Water Act 36 of 1998.
