Msukaligwa Municipality closes entrances to Pet Dam in Ermelo

“Locals do not adhere to the regulations of the lockdown.”

Msukaligwa Municipality closed all entrances of Pet Dam on 9 October. 

This followed after the Covid-19 Local Command Council (LCC) decided to close the dam with immediate effect until further notice. 

According to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman of Msukaligwa Municipality, the closure was done in fear of a second wave of Covid-19.

Msukaligwa has as of 9 October, reported 46 deaths due to Covid-19.

“Locals do not adhere to the regulations of the lockdown,” Mr Zwane stated.

According to him security will monitor the area.

Locals have in the meanwhile made the Sport-Inn’s parking lot the new party hotspot.
