Carolina Police investigates armed robbery at PEP stores

Carolina Police are investigating a business robbery that took place in Carolina on 7 December.

According to information received from police, the robbery took place at 5.20pm at PEP stores.

Sergeant Thabang Mokwana, spokesman for Carolina Police, said: “Three employees were busy with their duties when a man entered the shop, took a shopping basket and pretended as though he was a customer.”

“Thereafter, five men also entered the store with firearms and instructed some of the employees to lie down whereafter their hands were tied with cable ties.”

According to Sgt Mokwana, one of the armed suspects instructed a staff member to open the store’s safe and to put the cell phones in a bag.

He said, the suspect assaulted her with an open hand and instructed the victim to open the safe, but she told him that safe’s keys were not kept in the store.

The robbers took an undisclosed amount of money from the tills and stole cell phones and clothing.
