She concluded, “This was a beautiful area before, but over the years maintenance has been neglected.”

Residents of Klipbou, Wesselton, are fed up with the conditions in which they have to live.

According to a resident who wishes to remain anonymous, there is a manhole that has been overflowing in Nkwayane Street for over a year.

She does not recall municipal workers attending to the problem in the past.

“The manhole is situated in front of a resident’s house.

“It has been reported numerous times, but nothing is being done about it.”

The resident added that the sewage water carries rubbish from the street into the drains subsequently blocking them.

She stated that the condition of the roads in the area are also terrible.

It’s been this way for more than 10 years and worsen daily.

She concluded, “This was a beautiful area before, but over the years maintenance has been neglected.”

The Highvelder sent media enquiries to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman of Msukaligwa Municipality, and awaits response.
