Farmer and mother attacked on farm outside Bethal

The man and his mother were fortunate to have survived the attack and have been treated for their injuries.

A woman and four men attacked a farmer and his mother on their farm just outside Bethal on the R38 today, 21 February.

According to an informant on the scene, the farmer was lured to his farm’s gate.

When he opened the gate, he was attacked by the men who then proceeded to attack the man’s mother with a weapon.

The attackers ransacked the house, stole firearms, belongings and a vehicle.

The vehicle has since been found abandoned outside Bethal.

The man and his mother were fortunate to have survived the attack and have been treated for their injuries.
