Carolina Police makes R15 750 dagga bust

“They discovered eight packages of dagga weighing in at 105kg,” Sgt Thabang Mokwana, Carolina Police spokesman, said.

Mr Sabelo Makamu (40) and Mr Tebatso Mokgabudi (30) appeared in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on 11 March for allegedly dealing in dagga.

This followed after police were busy with their operational duties and saw a suspicious car parked on the side of the road.

Police approached the vehicle with two occupants inside it and requested to search the car.

“They discovered eight packages of dagga weighing in at 105kg,” Sgt Thabang Mokwana, Carolina Police spokesman, said.

“The dagga was hidden at the back of the vehicle and was estimated to have a street value of R15 750.”

The accused appeared in court and their case was postponed to 18 March as they needed legal representative.

“Mokgabudi and Makamu are still in police’s custody,” Sgt Mokwana concluded.
