Carolina Magistrate’s Court sentences three men to 36 months imprisonment for theft out of vehicle

The court heard that the suspects stole a tool box and a jigsaw valued at R8 500 from the back of a van which was parked at Voortrekker Street in Carolina on 11 February.

Three men were sentenced to 36 months imprisonment after they were found guilty of theft out of a motor vehicle.

Carolina Magistrate’s Court sentenced Sibusiso Mhlanga (28), Sibusiso Ndhlandhla (28) and Sfiso Willy Mkhabela (32) on 8 March.

According to Sgt Thabang Mokwana, spokesman for Carolina Police, the suspects were also declared unfit to possess firearms in terms of section 103 of the Firearm Control Act 60/2000.

The court heard that the suspects stole a tool box and a jigsaw valued at R8 500 from the back of a van which was parked at Voortrekker Street in Carolina on 11 February.

Police advised the community to not leave their valuables in their vehicles.
