Reference numbers at Lekwa in Standerton in long line

Mr Jabulani also said he will contact the Public Protector if the municipality does not respond,

An electrical pole is sloping precariously towards another house in 1970 Monaheng Street in Sakhile.

According to a community activist, the problem has been reported to the Lekwa Municipality and reference number 118446 was supplied.

“The solution is to move it to another spot where it will be safe for everyone,” Mr Gibson Jabulani said.

Mr Jabulani visited the offices of the Standerton Advertiser on Monday, 19 April and pointed out that Hlongwane Drive also has its fair share of problems.

According to him, municipal workers dug in an area in March last year and damaged a water pipe.

Workers closed the hole and promised to fix it.

“There are two households now without water,” he added.

The residents have their containers filled with water at neighbouring houses.

Lekwa’s reference number is 118444 of 13 April 2020.

Mr Jabulani also said he will contact the Public Protector if the municipality does not respond,

The newspaper sent a WhatsApp-message to the communications manager of the Lekwa Municipality, Ms Thobeka Mtshiselwa, on Wednesday, 21 April, enquiring about progress on the two problems.

Reference numbers were supplied as well.
