Man breaks beer bottle and stabs his girlfriend in Carolina

“The boyfriend got angry and aggressive, he broke a beer bottle and stabbed her.

Mr Matimba Glen Baloyi (29) was arrested after he broke a bottle and allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Ms Pretty Nonhlanhla Mabuza (26) with it in Carolina on Monday, 13 May.

He then allegedly also stabbed her again with a knife. 

The attack happened at about 5pm while Ms Mabuza was doing the laundry.

Mr Baloyi was arrested for domestic violence and assault with the intent to cause grievous body harm.

Sgt Thabang Mokwana, spokesman for Carolina Police, said the boyfriend told Ms Mabuza that he needed to talk and she told him that they will talk after she is done with the laundry.

“The boyfriend got angry and aggressive, he broke a beer bottle and stabbed her.

“The victim ran to the bathroom to hide, but the accused broke the bathroom door and entered with a knife and stabbed the victim,” Sgt Mokwana said.

According to him, injuries were inflicted on her head, hands, back and shoulder.

Ms Mabuza ran outside and the neighbours alerted the police, who quickly arrived at the scene and arrested the accused who was attempting to run away with a knife in his hands.

The victim was taken to Carolina Hospital for medical treatment.
