Horse rider finds woman’s body in field near Trichardt

Sgt Koma said the woman had multiple stab wounds around the upper body and was burned on her thighs and lower abdomen.

A woman was found murdered in a field close to Trichardt yesterday, 18 May.

According to Sgt Valencia Koma, spokesman for the Trichardt Police Station, a horse rider came across the woman in the veld on a farm in the area and contacted the police at about 4pm.

The police found the naked body of the woman lying face down with an ANC T-shirt around her neck.

Sgt Koma said the woman had multiple stab wounds around the upper body and was burned on her thighs and lower abdomen.

Paramedics certified her dead on the scene.

She is suspected to be between 30 and 40 years old.

A case of murder was opened at Trichardt Police Station and they are investigating the case.

The police urged anyone who might have information that can help in this case, or might know the deceased woman’s family that reported a missing person fitting the description, to contact the investigating officer, Const Amukelani Kwninika at 017 638 0241.
